Damon joined CBHDA in May 2024 as the new Legislative Assistant after previously working as an Executive Legal Assistant for the Office of Governor Newsom.

Damon comes from Fresno, California where their time spent working closely with Clovis Community College and the State Center Community College District on equitable access and placement policy which ultimately led them to pursue a degree in Political Science at UC Davis.

After completing their Bachelor’s, Damon moved to Sacramento as an Executive Fellow, working for the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office under the Government Relation Division and continuing their work on equitable higher education policies. Through this experience, Damon developed the crucial skills needed to participate in the California state legislative process and a deep love for the City of Sacramento.

Additionally, Damon has previously served as the Co-Events Coordinator for the Capitol Fellows Alumni Association (CFAA) for the 2022-2023 term and continues to stay active within the capitol community.
