Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health
California Reducing Disparities Project (CRDP): Evolutions
The Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health’s California Reducing Disparities Project (CRDP): Evolutions is a Mental Health Service Act (MHSA) Innovations Project supporting the County’s efforts to provide more culturally responsive services to reduce disparities and increase health equity. The project will sustain three existing CRDP programs and help provide a framework for future efforts around the state to implement community-defined practices to our system of care.
CRDP Programs:
Sweet Potato Project uses agriculture and entrepreneurship for African American Youth.
Hmong Helping Hands, a program focused on culturally responsive services for older adult Hmong and some other Southeast Asian communities.
Atención Plena and Placticas, which focuses on Latino youth.
Fresno County’s Innovation Project funds these existing CRDP programs for an additional three years at the current funding levels and works with those communities to identify adaptions to the existing program to maintain its effectiveness. The Innovation Project looks at changes to the program and the process to help provide a framework for future efforts around the state to implement community-defined practices to our systems of care.
