Abigail (Abby) joined CBHDA in July 2024 as a Senior Policy Advocate. Prior to joining CBHDA, Abby worked as a Policy Consultant and Lobbyist at Everyday Impact Consulting, where she supported dozens of community-based organizations in advancing their legislative and budgetary goals. She lobbied on a range of issues, including culturally-responsive domestic violence prevention, eldercare, health workforce, farmworker labor rights, and food systems.

Prior, Abigail worked at the U.S. Department of Education and the California Immigrant Policy Center. As a grassroots organizer, she raised $30,000 in emergency relief and mutual-aid funds for service workers who lost their jobs during the pandemic. She currently serves as the Treasurer of the Board of FemDems Sacramento and is a former Board Member of the Capitol Latinx Association Foundation.

Abby graduated summa cum laude from Santa Clara University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish, and a minor in women and gender studies. She graduated from the University Honors Program after publishing a thesis on the Zapatistas’ revolutionary politics in Latin America. She served as a class senator for two years before being elected Student Body President and named SCU’s first Truman Scholar in 36 years.
